Abu Samer’s family lived for more than a year in a tent that kept out neither the summer heat nor the winter cold, and the children were often ill from the damp.
Through the shelter project, the family moved into a housing unit with the essentials. Abu Samer says the biggest change is that his children sleep peacefully and have gone back to playing and studying.
